I would never thought this beautiful place would exist in our country. Once you go there the body feels the peace of nature and the calm of its facilities bring you the most wonderful feeling of relaxation.

Just 90 Km away from Bogota, surrounded by beautiful landscapes that remind us what extraordinary country we have.

I know it can be a little expensive but it is totally worth the investment. 

Many times people go abroad and feel impressed by the locations and facilities of resorts, but here in Colombia we have plenty of this magnificent places.

Chicamocha National Park 

(Spanish:Parque Nacional del Chicamocha), also known as Panachi, is a Colombian national  natural park along the Chicamocha Canyon (Cañón del Chicamocha) located 50 km from the city of  Bucaramanga, Santander. 

The site is a tourist attraction due to is spectacular landscape and the variety of outdoor activities that it offers such as paragliding, spelunking, bushwalking, camping, fishing, kayaking, rafting, mountain climbing, etc. The park is located on the highway between Bucaramanga and San Gil, 54 kilometers from Santander´s largest and capital city Bucaramanga.

Today we will learn a little bit about our famous Archeological Park, Its name is San Agustín.

It is located in the south part of the department of Huila and  It was declared a  UNESCO worls Heritage site in the year 1995.

The archeological park contains the largest collection of religious monuments and traditiuonal sculptures from the  Agustin Culture.

You will find displays of stone tools, sculptures, funeral urns, and gold pieces that are realted to different societies form the Huila region.

The park itself corresponds to a small area with a high concentration of graves.

San Agustin is located 520 kilometers away from Bogota, you will have to take South Highway and it is going to take you about 10 hours by car, nevertheless you will be able to visit different small cities on your way there and at the same time you will be able to have a taste of our culture and exquisite meals.
